The Process

The process for arranging supervised consists of three steps. The detail of each step builds the framework and opportunity to make a successful visitation.

The steps in greater detail

Your making contact gets the ball rolling. Alternatively we will contact you and provide you with  details of your local Family Court Co-ordinator and explain the process by e-mail or over the telephone.

Once the Family Court has sent Family Friend a request to provide you with supervised contact our manager will get in touch with both the day to day contact carer and the party seeking contact. She will then arrange to meet each of you individually,at a  place and a time that is convenient for you, where she will complete some necessary paperwork. There she will also explain the supervised contact procedure further and answer any questions you may have. This will usually be completed in a timely manner.
The same process is followed when setting up supervised contact by private arrangement.

At contact one of our experienced Family Friend supervisors will attend the visitation in a discreet and respectful way to ensure the time spent with your family is quality time. This is your opportunity to connect.

After each visitation

After each visitation the Family Friend supervisor assigned to the supervision will prepare a brief report on each visit for the court which will be read by the Judge and the lawyers acting on behalf of the child(ren), the day to day carer and the visiting parent respectively. You will probably wish to discuss the contents of these reports with your lawyer prior to the next Family Court hearing.Family Friend sends these reports to the court co-ordinator in batches of about five or six at a time
